For about the last 30 years, the Jewish community – as a whole and all its segments – and in particular the secular community, has experienced a crisis in its Jewish identity, which has affected all areas of Israeli society and culture. Against this background and in light of the rifts and increasing polarization in Israeli society, we have been witness during the last 20 years to a large number of initiatives among various groups in the Jewish population. These reflect a deep desire for Jewish Renaissance in various manifestations of an open and pluralistic Judaism.
The Jewish Agency’s Partnership 2000 program supports a number of initiatives in the area of Jewish Renaissance. These include:
- Spiritual Communities (Batei Kehila) in the Central Galilee.
- The Limmud program in the Galilee and Arava.
- Beit Midrash.
- “Classroom Renaissance”.
- Social Justice
The Jewish Agency’s Jewish Renaissance blog has a dual purpose:
- Pooling of knowledge among the implementers of Jewish Renaissance programs, with the objective of advancing and expanding the circle of activity.
- Creation of a platform for creativity in the area of Jewish Renaissance for organization members and our partners in the implementation of Jewish Renaissance programs.
